About Blake

Blake is an experienced senior plumbing supervisor with remote infrastructure and commercial project experience. His current role involves the overall responsibility of delivering the plumbing works (but not limited too) for the project. Blake is required to provide reports on progress vs. budgets, manning levels and coordinate with other trades. Being on a remote project site it is also his responsibility to ensure that all materials are procured and on site before, or as they are required. As the Plumbing Supervisor Blake’s role also provides technical and logistical support to sub-contractors, as well as liaising with engineers as part of the design process from site, for submission to the client.

Projects

Construction Manager/Plumbing Supervisor

  • Installation of Carlindi Camp at Pilgangoora site for Pilbara Minerals including delivery of 240 rooms for TMJ plus the initial 60 rooms and central facilities for OTOC giving 300 rooms in total;

  • Installation of modular office facilities for Main Roads project;

  • Site Supervision works in both Newman WA and Weipa QLD;

  • Various residential and commercial works in Metro Perth, WA;

  • Deconstruction of Roy Hill Rail Camp 3 and re-installation at new Pilgangoora site;

  • Construction and maintenance of remote facilities including staff accommodation, villages resident accommodation and supporting infrastructure. Works valued at $80 million AUD and performed on a remote Pacific island;

  • Construction and ongoing maintenance of a new hospital (surgery, paediatrics, imaging, in and outpatient facilities, pathology, treatment clinics); and

  • Construction of new school, community centre, corrections facility, RO Plants and sea water pump for island’s water supply.

    Responsibilities

    I was responsible for all site-based contact for the design, estimating and procurement of materials for the plumbing department on the awarded $160 million worth of projects for my company. Whilst ensuring safety and and quality were at the forefront of my focus, I was required to have a clear understanding of the scope of works, budget and program whilst maintaining a high standard of company culture and work ethics. In particular I was required to:

  • Ensure all plumbing works comply with Australian and international standards;

  • Coordinate direct staff and subcontractors, labour, plant and material deliveries to site;

  • Ability to understand and assist updating of construction programs and developing a 4-week look ahead;

  • Complete understanding of scope of works to identify variations and TQ’s (Technical Queries);

  • Assist with raising TQ’s, variations and notice of delays;

  • Support the Site Management Team with application of Project Specific Management Plans, HSE Management Plans, QA (Quality Assurance);

  • Record, manage and document all changes of design and ensure engineering sign-off; and

  • Completion of all QA site inspections with client representatives and management of quality documentation ITP’s (Inspection and Test Plans) and check sheets.
